Winter IPA

December 16, 2009

I may be way off base here, and please correct me if I’m wrong….but I feel particularly privileged to be located in the great Pacific Northwest. Where else can you sit down at a seriously legit ale house in the middle of December and see multiple IPAs still on tap?

Does this happen in the NE? SE? I know it doesn’t happen in the Southwest, aside from Turtle Mountain Brewery in Albuquerque, NM.

Let me know your thoughts. Are IPAs too much hop goodness for a dark and cold winter night?

XBrew

December 15, 2009

There is a really cool cross-country homebrew collaboration going on this January. With all the craft brew collaborations we have seen this year (Dogfish Head and Sierra Nevada with Life & Limb, for instance), it only made sense to do something similar for homebrewers.

Welcome to XBrew. I won’t go into too many details here, as there is already a nice blog up. But needless to say, I really look forward to participating in this experiment with such fine brewers and bloggers. Most Xbrew-related stuff should be posted there, but I will cross-reference when it makes sense.
